HISTORY

Start-1 was established in 1991. Back then we were called commercial R&D and production center. The company is one of the oldest players of the Russian outdoor market. From the very beginning company’s goals included supporting development of outdoor activities (tracking, fishing and hunting) and non-traditional sports like indoor climbing. We stay true to our values and continue developing tourism, fishing and hunting. Also we support the best climbers of our country, providing them with the best climbing equipment on the market.

SPORT IS IN OUR DNA

Our team consists of adventurous alpinists and world champions in indoor climbing, travelers and backpackers, fishermen and hunters, environmental specialists and many others. We were sponsors of construction of first mountain shelter on Elbrus, gave our equipment to ascenders of Mont Blanc, Kazbek and Khan-Tengri, supported expeditions to tropical forests of Mexico, and environmental volunteer camp on Lake Baikal. Our equipment was tested on shores of Lake Valdai and during expeditions to Kamchatka’s volcanoes. Outdoor equipment that is distributed on Russian market by Start-1 was tested by storm winds during extreme Patagonia expedition race, worked during a whole year at Mt. Elbrus saddle and traveled through lands and sands of old Persia. Our equipment is well-known to all travelers; it is robust and reliable and was tested in all temperatures and climate zones.
